European competition Rolling Again, Southampton Feeling Benefited

Southampton – February is the time for re-rolling the European club competition after two months. This was greeted positively by Southampton manager, Ronald Koeman, related to the four major competition.

Champions League round of 16 will start in the next 16 to 17 February, followed by the last 32 of the Europa League. Some Premier League teams such as Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur still compete there.

City will face Barcelona, Chelsea meet Paris St-Germain, Arsenal met AS Monaco, Liverpool faced with Besiktas, and Tottenham meet Fiorentina.

Perhaps the concentration of these teams will begin divided, considering they also have their respective missions in local competitions as Chelsea and City to compete at the top, while Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs for the top four.

If you have this then Southampton and Manchester United are relatively advantaged given their focus only on local competition, especially Soton who only played in the Premier League.

So it Soton will utilize the best possible chance to distance themselves from the pursuit of its rivals towards the top four that now they occupy, as Arsenal et al. also eyeing the championship trophy in European competition.

Of the 23 matches left, Soton is in fourth position with 42 points, goal difference ahead of Arsenal in fifth position. Then lead two points of the Spurs in the sixth and four points from Liverpool in seventh position.
